On 2nd November, 2014 “All Souls Day” was meaningfully celebrated in St Joseph’s Church, Sagar. Prior to this day, couple of days ago the Parishioners especially the youth and members of Small Christian Communities (SCC) cleaned the cemetery and tombs were sparkling. On 2nd of November the cemetery was illumined with lights. It was indeed amazing. It was a moment of immense joy to be with our departed loved ones, remember them and pray for them in a very special way. The crowd present there with flowers and candles indicated how much they miss their dear ones. The day was marked by the vital celebration of the Holy Eucharist at the grave yard at 5pm which was celebrated by Fr. Pius D’Souza the Asst. Parish Priest and con-celebrated by Fr. Venus the Parish Priest. The reflections given by Fr. Pius in his insight said that we are not permanent here on earth. We are only pilgrims here and our destination is heaven. We need to strive hard to attain it through prayers, charitable deeds, forgiveness, tolerance and love. We came empty handed and we go back so. What we do here is only a preparation to attain that heavenly bliss. After the mass the faithful gathered around the tomes of their loved ones prayed for them and went back with a hope that they would meet them one day in heaven to praise God the creator eternally.
