Sagar, 2013 : Mr. Na D' Souza, a former student of St. Joseph's Kannada Medium School at Sagar and the President Designate of the 80th Kannada Sahitya Sammelana was felicitated at the Annual Day of St. Joseph's Kannada Medium School.     

The School was started in 1927 by Fr. S. P. Fernandes. In the beginning, it functioned in the verandahs of the Church. It was recognised by the Government in 1930. A plot of land near the Church was allotted by the Muncipality to the Christians to run the school. The management of the School was subsequently transferred to Bethany Sisters.
Sr. Prakash, Professor at Jyothi College, Bangalore presided. Rev. Fr. Venus Colaco, Parish Priest, Sri. P Lingappa, BEO, Sr. Susan, Superior of St. Joseph's Convent, Smt. Pushpa, PSI and Sri T. N. Srinivas, Muncipal Councillor were the guests of honour. There was a fascinating cultural programme by the students of the school.
