Sagar, 05 Nov. 2017: Members of the Parish Finance Committee (PFC) had a memorable pilgrimage to the City of Joy, Kolkata, under the leadership of the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Venus Praveen Colaco.
The pilgrimage began from Sagar upto Bangalore by KSRTC Vegadoota Bus. After a brief halt at Vinayalaya, Bangalore, the PFC Members proceeded to Kolkata by Turanto Express. On arrival at Kolkata, the members had a boat ride from the World Famous Howrah bridge to get a glimpse of the City of Joy.
On the next day, Fr. Venus Praveen celebrated Mass at the Tomb of St. Mother Teresa after which the PFC Members met Sr. Prema, the Superior General of the Missionaries of Charity. After visiting the Mother House, the PFC members visited the important houses established by Mother Teresa - Shishu Bhavan, Mahatma Gandhi Leprosy Centre, Nirmala Kennedy Rehabilitation Centre, and Nirmala Hruday Centre for the Destitute.
The members also visited the Kali Ghat, Science Park and Indian Museum at Kolkata. Thanks to the hospitality of His Excellence Thomas D'Souza, Archbishop of Kokata and the wonderful local arrangements by Sr. Rose Clare MC, the pilgrimage was a memorable experience for the members.
On returning to Bangalore by Anga Express, the PFC Members had a short rest at PMS, Ulsoor Road followed by sight seeing at Bangalore and shopping at the M. G. Road, Brigade Road and Majestic. They arrived safely to Sagar by the Talguppa Express Train.
